Round 2, Game 1
The battle for the C Division Championship has begun. What a start! This is what minor hockey is all about. Two great teams battling hard for the win. This game could have gone either way.......
Novice White opened the scoring half way through the first period and then took a 2 goal lead with 1 minute left in the first. We started a little slow but our play improved in the 2nd and we had a ton of scoring opportunities but failed to capitalize. We put the puck in the net at the end of the 2nd period but the ref waved it off because he said it went in after the buzzer...tough break for us! We needed to narrow the gap and this call hurt. We didn't give up and kept pressing. Two and a half minutes into the 3rd period Caden Brown went high and scored after a nice pass from Deacon on the power play. We kept pressing but solid goaltending by Novice White kept us off the board. Late in the 3rd we got stuck in our own zone a little too much and we managed to pull Eric with only about 40 seconds left for the extra attacker. Unfortunately we just couldn't get the equalizer and the game ended in a 2-1 loss.
Don't get down kids....lets come back flying on Thursday and even the series at one. Keep up the great work everyone!
