St Thomas Select Tournament
Congratulations Team. Team play and a strong performance by all the players resulted in us making it to the semi finals in the St Thomas Select tournament.
Everyone played hard and tried their best. We are all very proud of the players and we proved that a group of country kids had the ability to compete with large hockey centres such as Kitchener and Brantford. Great effort kids the coaching staff is very proud of you.
Game #1
Mt Brydges vs Brantford 99'ers 6-4 win.
We didn't know what to expect coming into this game. Our team dominated the entire game and the result was our first win. Jimmy Sutherland was awarded game MVP with a stellar show of offensive ability.
Game#2
Mt Brydges vs Kitchener Capitals 8-5 win
We came into this game as the underdogs. We heard from various sources that this was a strong team. Everyone hustled and played a great game resulting in our 2nd win. Brody Borszcz was awarded game MVP. Brody played awesome and made several key saves to keep our team on top.
Game#3 Semi final vs Kitchener capitals 9-3 loss
Kitchener came out flying. They played a great game. Our kids competed and worked their hardest but we came up short. Overall in this game everyone tried their hardest but we couldn't pull out a win, but thats hockey kids. We are all very proud of you.
Cole Abbey played fantastic, he was all over the ice and worked very hard. Cole was awarded game MVP.
Overall kids it was a fantastic weekend of hockey. You are all WINNERS to the coaching staff and your parents. Keep up the hard work. We still have plenty of hockey to play including the Lambeth tournament during March Break. I am looking forward to hitting the ice next Thursday at practice.
