Round One Winners
After 3 hard fought games against a strong St. Marys team the atom gold team is advancing on to the LMLL A series finals.  We played the three games and won them 2-1, 2-1 and 7-0.  The boys continue to play as hard as they can and they continue getting the results.  In the finals we will be facing Aylmer 1, who beat us in the Aylmer tournament over the Christmas holidays.

The boys continue to show their hard work and their determination out on the ice.  The first two games were extremely hard fought battles with St. Marys.  In the first game St. Marys got off to an early lead and our boys fought back to win 2-1.  In the second game we took the lead with St. Marys fighting back in the 3rd to pull the game to another 2-1 win for us.  Today it seemed like it was going to be another tough game and for the most part St. Marys came out and played hard but we were getting some of the bounces to go our way and we ended up winning 7-0 to claim the first round series.  During the 3 games we had some great goaltending from Griffin and it was nice to see a shut out for todays game.  Our defence of Jacob, Memphis, Liam and Cary always fight hard for the puck and they don't give up until they move the puck up the ice.  They also have been getting the puck to the net from the blueline offensively and create many scoring opportunities.  Our 3 forward lines always play hard and each line skate just as hard on the forecheck as they do on the backcheck.  Darius, Robert and Tim always play hard and move the puck around the ice very well.  Noah, Aidan and Kristian create a lot of scoring chances but still come back and help out our defence and dig at the puck constantly.  Today Kole, Caden and Will had a great game.  Kole and Caden each scored a goal and Will scored two.  But on top of that they were hustling back to help out.  Overall we played 3 strong team games and we will need to continue with that going into the finals.

Again I would like the players for their continued effort at the games and at the practice.  As well I think we have the best fans and parents out there to support our Atom Gold Cougars.  I hope to see everyone and more coming out to the finals.
