Game Two: What a Comeback
The pregame speech tonight in Thedford went something like this: "You think they came out hard last game, you wait until tonight.  They will be even tougher".

And truer words have never been spoken.  The Predators came out again just a flyin and buzzing all over the place.  There was nothing we could do and 3 minutes in they went up 1-0.  They buzzed around for a bit more, but then the Cougars took over with great clearing shots, break aways, and tonnes of pressure.  But Predators tender was on his head, and a few bad bounces and breaks took some fantastic scoring chances away from us.  Then with 2 minutes left in the second period, they slid one past our awesome goalie Cam Jones and they went up 2-0.

Then in the third, things started going south.  The kids started getting down and talking like there was no way we were going to win.  Coach Greg lit a fire under a couple of them and told them there is no way it's over, and sure enough, with 7:05 left in the third, Nathan March slid a pass over to Alex Whitney, who skated in and drilled one home to make it 2-1.  I am sure I saw a crack in the wall after that roar from the crowd.

The Cougars kept clawing and never gave up.  Then defenceman Reece White-Eye, now playing forward for a shift, took over and rushed the puck up the ice.  I could feel the excitement building.  Reece got a shot away and the puck ended up on ole faithful, Nathan Marches stick.  He didn't disappoint and promptly deposited the puck in the back of the net with 4:37 left in the third to tie it up.  This time I saw mortar falling from the rafters as the visiting team fans outdid the home towners by a landslide.  We were able to hang on the rest of the way and escape there with a tie.

It was tough to pick a player of the game tonight, but Congrats goes to Reece White-Eye who saved us time and time again on d, and got things going on the final goal by the Naterator.

Special kudos goes to the Predators goalie who almost stole 2 points for them tonight.  He made some big saves.

Get ready for the next game folks......you better your pace makers tuned up.
