Novice Blue traveled to West Lorne on the weekend for our first tournament. The little cougars came up against a strong Mooretown select team that popped in 3 goals in the first 3 minutes. The parents and team were wondering what we were in for??

Blue battled back all game to get to 3-2 going into the 3rd. Our solid D lines and super goalie Ava were fending off attack after attack from the Storm but we had our chances at the other end . With about 2 minutes left we had a 2 on 0 and couldn't beat the Storm keeper to tie the game. We had a few penalties to end the game and lost our opener 3-2

Game 2 was a battle with Lambton Shores Red who we tied in league play the previous week. The kids shook off the loss and came out on fire getting a quick goal and then getting an insurance marker in the 3rd. Ava came up huge again and our defence was solid in earning a team shut-out and moving on to the Championship game against none other than Mt Brydges Gold

Sunday's game was going to be a close one and the kids were pumped. They were shaking it to some tunes in the dressing room and came out and went up 2-0 on Gold. Gold trimmed the lead from a goal from their big guy but Blue battled back with a 2nd wrap around goal giving us a 3-1 lead. The game got tense in the last couple of minutes when Gold's power forward fought through the D and buried another goal to make it 3-2. The cougars held them off and the D lines  of Hamish-Kyle and Kevin-Erika were solid and shut them down. In the end it was a cougars blue victory and our first tournament win

Defensive player of the tournament went to Kyle and offence went to Carter Those were tough choices as everyone played so well but the coaches voted and made 2 good choices. The team wrapped up the day with some dancing to gangman style in a great video.

Congrats Novice Blue I am proud of the way you all played !!
