Championship Finalists in Wasaga Beach
Congrats to Atom Red for their incredible performance this past weekend in Wasaga Beach.
The team opened with a 9-0 victory against Nobleton, then followed it by edging out Bradford 5-4 to move to the Championship final against Erin - Hillsborough.
The Cougars controled this game from the opening buzzer, and outshot their opponants 3 -1 ...but had to fight back to tie the game at 1 -1 via a tip in Goal by Caden Rivest, his first of the seaon with 1:42 left in regulation.
Overtime solved nothing so on to a shoot out!!
The opposing goalie proved too strong shutting down our 3 shooters as Erin - Hillsborough scored 1 on a controversial goal to take a 2 -1 Championship victory.
It was a very entertaining and fairly played contest!!
Thank you to all the Parents and Coaching staff for making it a memorable weekend getaway tournament!!!
I want to especially thank our players. You played the entire tournament with poise and gritty determination,.and even in defeat your positive attitudes proved very inspiring to us all!!!
