Silver Stick Summary
The boys came out to play on day 1 taking down the Aylmer Flames 4-2 with 2 goals by Laver, 1 for Kelly and 1 for Rombouts.

Our next big test was day 2 when the Cougars took it to Lambeth, out hitting, out shooting and out scoring the Lancers. The final tally was 7-3 for Brydges. The scoring was spread out by 2 for Kelly and singles for Joey, Laver, Josh, Matt & Channin. In the elimination game that night we came out a bit slow but ended up filling the net in a   8-2 romp over Waterford. Kelly continued his hot streak with a hat trick, 2 for Joey, and tallies by Hop, Dan & Matt.

The boys had to wait until New years day after giving up New Years Eve parties for their shot at the semi's and the potential for the finals. We saw a re-match with Aylmer who also came to play and after 2 scoreless periods the Flames struck first half way through the 3rd. The Cougars came back quickly on a shot by Kelly on a nice setup by Wuytenburg. The game went to OT and 3 on 3 hockey. The Cougars came out on top mid way through OT on a power play goal by George from a beauty pass by Capirchio. This meant a trip to the finals

Our Cougars were hungry for the win to get the trip to International and would face Mitchell who were the weeks Giant slayers and had just taken out Lambeth & Strathroy. Both teams came out a bit sluggish with not too many opportunities by either squad. Berfelz was stacking the pads as Mitchell was trying several wrap arounds to get one by. The Cougars got first blood in the 2nd period but Mitchell stormed back with the tieing goal in the 3rd. Josh took a howitzer late in the 3rd that just went off the crossbar but that was as close as we got in the last few minutes. This game went to OT again and Mitchell came out fast and managed to get our D off guard and they just tucked one past Big Ben.

A tough way to go out but the boys should be proud of how they played the entire tournament. It should be noted that the boys played penalty free games in the semis and finals.  Congrats to Mitchell who also played a great tourney !

Well done Cougars, we are all VERY PROUD of you  !!!!!!
