Ok, I did some research and found that they have removed open ice hits as well as big hits on the boards. They have gone back to the # 1 rule in separating the man from the puck so they can pin and bump on the boards. They can not hit with their stick or hands up. It appears that if their stick is on the ice, contact along the boards and the middle of the ice is acceptable. Please have all players & parents review this video on Youtube of acceptable checking......Mike................
