We are the Champions!
Novice White are the O.M.H.A Champions!!!!!
We had an excellent game.  Every child played with a lot of heart and played as a team.  It was a heart wrenching game with a close score of 2-1 against Strathroy White.  To come back from a 4 point spread and win the championship was a whole team effort.  Way to go Cougars!!!!  We are all so proud of the way everyone played this year and all the leaps and bounds the children made over this season.  Can you believe that for at least three of our players, this was their first year playing hockey! You would not know that now.  Here's to a great season, and parents get ready to play against our newest champions on Saturday, we will need all the luck we can get I'm sure.

The game was a stay at the edge of your seat kind as usual for us Cougar White fans.  We made our first goal shortly into the first period and the fire really started to burn thereafter.  You could hear and feel the clenching as the puck drew near our end each time.  But our children were on fire and they were not giving any chances for clear shots on their favourite Mount Brydges goalie.
Second period flew by with many heart stopping twists and turns, but we were still ahead by 1.
Then, in the 3rd period, with just 1:53 on the clock, Strathroy Rockets White scored their first goal to tie the game. 1-1.  Would this put us in to overtime?  Would our Cougars come back and defeat them with just under 2 minutes left of the game?  The crowd went to a hush, but not for long.

With 11.5 seconds left in the game we kept fighting for our goal and got it.  Way to go Cougars White O.M.H.A Champions!!!!!  The fans in the stands could not contain themselves.  We jumped from our seats and screamed and cheered as loud as we could.  What a rush and great feeling to have won in such a well matched final series.
We are going to miss all this excitement now that the season is over.  See you all at the banquet on Saturday.
