Playoffs Begin
The Blues roll into Aylmer to take on the Flames.
Novice Blue took on an old rival from the Port Stanley tournament in November, the Aylmer Flames.
The Flames came out quickly and made an impressive rush to open the scoring 56 seconds into the game. The Blues fought back and held the Flames scoreless for the remainder of the first and all of the second. Jarryd Davidon made some key saves to keep the game close.
Jordan Mckellar scored a tieing goal in the second but it was waived off with the "official" call being that it hit the post, bounced over the goalie and out. The visiting spectators went wild.
The team went into the third one goal down. The Blues came out flying and kept the pressure on. Ben Wilson scored assisted by Zach Sibley and Jordan McKellar. The Flames quickly responded and took the lead again. The Blues kept fighting which allowed Duncan Clubb to take a shot at the net. The shot was beautifully tipped/directed into the net by Jordan McKellar. The game was tied up again.
With just one minute remaining the Flames made a rush which lead to the game winning goal.
Game two will definitely be one of revenge for the Blues.
