Midget B Girls Heading To Provincials!
Midget B Girls Heading To Provincials
The Midget B Girls have qualified for the
OWHA Provincial tournament in Ottawa
in early April after finishing 1st in a 7 team round robin series, then
disposing of 2nd place St. Thomas Panthers in 2 straight games in a
best of 3 series.
Behind the solid net minding of Natalie Catlos, the Cougars chalked up a 5-1 record in the round robin portion, with their only loss coming at the hands of St. Thomas. This set up a rematch between the #1 Cougars and #2 Panthers in a best of 3 series to determine who was going to Ottawa. In the first game, the Cougars fell behind 2-0 before scoring 3 straight goals in the 2nd and skating away with a 3-2 victory.
In Game 2, the girls were down 1-0 and once again battled back for an exciting 2-1 win. The Cougars showed a lot of character and resiliency on the road to Provincials, overcoming several injuries and a short bench along the way. Now it’s off to the nation’s capital to face 15 of the top Midget B Girls teams from around Ontario to…GO FOR THE GOLD.
